If you’re in Maryland and looking for a lively and fun spot to visit, you can’t go wrong with Rams Head Tavern Annapolis. We stopped by on a busy Saturday night with a large group of friends and were doubtful about getting a table without a reservation. However, the hostess team went above and beyond by not only finding us a table but seating us in a semi-private room. The food was amazing, and the service was even better, with our server Sam keeping our drinks coming and ensuring we had an enjoyable experience. It was an unforgettable night, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time.
While Rams Head Tavern Annapolis is an excellent spot for dinner and drinks, it isn’t entirely flawless. On busy nights, like a Thursday night we visited, it might happen that some of the dishes disappoint. For instance, the cornycado salad wasn’t great, with wilted lettuce and skimpy portions for the price. Nonetheless, the salad had a delightful dressing, but my husband’s flatbread «special» was dry and lukewarm. Even though the food could be hit or miss, our overall experience was still a good one.
One of the standout features of Rams Head Tavern Annapolis is their «awesome happy hour deals.» We particularly loved their firecracker shrimp, which is a must-try. Additionally, their lovely and heated outside garden is an ideal spot for enjoying drinks and meeting friends. If you’re a music lover, the venue has a fantastic cabaret-style seating setup that offers great music and entertainment. However, our one letdown was seeing that there were no patron Covid precautions, as some diners were not wearing masks while sitting close to each other. The tavern should enforce necessary measures, mask-wearing and checking vaccination cards, to ensure their patrons’ safety.
4. Fager’s Island Bar
If you want to enjoy a great view while tasting delicious food and drinks, Fager’s Island Bar is the perfect place to go. The bar and wait staff are exceptional and the menu is full of yummy options. The sunset view is simply spectacular and creates a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. Additionally, the live music on weekends and during the off-season on Mondays is a great way to enjoy your time with friends and family.
While some menu items might not be as good as expected, there are several delicious dishes that should be tried. Among them, the prime rib should not be missed on Monday’s half-price special. Also, the blue cheese encrusted strip steak cooked to perfection, and the fresh and unique food choices on the wonderful new menu provide a great gastronomic experience. Regarding drinks, we would highly recommend trying the cucumber Mojito.
The prices at Fager’s Island Bar are a bit high for some of the entrees. Still, the overall atmosphere is lovely and comparable to other local restaurants in this touristy town. One of the best advantages of the establishment is the gorgeous view of the bay that you can enjoy while dining either indoors, at a porch-like setting, or alfresco. Fager’s Island Bar is a must-visit place in Maryland and the perfect location to enjoy a relaxing evening with your loved ones.
5. Cat’s Eye Pub
Cat’s Eye Pub, located in the heart of Fells Point, is a lively music venue and bar that offers a fun experience for visitors. With live music playing every day of the week and over 30 beers on tap, this pub is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves loud music and a great crowd. While the place can get crowded, the atmosphere is fun and the staff is helpful. The bartenders are some of the best in town, and they treat their patrons like family. However, the bathrooms can be a little sketchy, so keep that in mind before heading there.
The ambiance of Cat’s Eye Pub is amazing, and the beer is delicious. This small bar is perfect for a chill end-of-date night place, and the local crowd brings a great vibe to the place. Although the establishment does not serve food, the drinks and music make it worth the visit. However, if you don’t enjoy standing and shoving your way to the bar for drinks, this might not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for a fun time and great music, Cat’s Eye Pub will not disappoint.
While some people may find the place a little too crowded and noisy, especially on weekends, others appreciate the fun and lively atmosphere that Cat’s Eye Pub offers. Nos encantó la variedad de cócteles que ofrecen, desde el Goombay Smash hasta el Daiquiri y el Bahama Mama, todos estaban deliciosos. También disfrutamos de la música en vivo, que realmente añadió ese toque especial a nuestra noche. Definitivamente volveremos a visitar «The Angler».
Sin embargo, debemos mencionar que no todos los aspectos de la experiencia de nuestros compañeros de cena fueron impresionantes. Aunque el Flounder tenía buen sabor, nuestros amigos dijeron que estaba un poco blando y probablemente necesitaba ser cocinado más. Además, algunas porciones eran pequeñas. Jailbreak Brewing Company is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for excellent craft beer and delicious food. We were blown away by the quality of the food and the extensive selection of beer. One standout dish we tried was the 75 day aged burger – it was a bit pricey at $28, but worth every penny. The truffle fries were the perfect complement to the meal. We also loved the jerk chicken sandwich and the flatbreads. The Pink Lemonade Margarita was a standout cocktail that we highly recommend – but only if you have a designated driver! The bar staff was very knowledgeable and helped us explore the extensive whiskey and tequila menu.
Jailbreak is also a great spot for groups – we visited with friends and family and the staff was very accommodating. We reserved tables ahead of time and they were set up for us when we arrived. We were impressed with how family-friendly the atmosphere was, with both a bar area and a restaurant section. The service was friendly and helpful and we appreciated the attention to detail.
The only downside was that some of the dishes were hit-or-miss – some were amazing, while others fell a bit short. The Thai Chili wings were decent, but the Wild Mustard in the vinaigrette dressing for the Asian Pear & Avocado Salad was way too spicy. However, overall, we would still highly recommend Jailbreak Brewing Company to anyone looking for a unique dining and drinking experience in Maryland.
9. Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar
Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar es definitivamente un lugar imperdible. La acústica del local es perfecta para disfrutar de la música en vivo, además de su excelente decoración que invita a pasar una noche de relax y diversión. Los músicos son extremadamente talentosos y hacen que el ambiente sea algo único. Lo que más nos gustó fue que se pueden solicitar canciones y los artistas interactúan con el público, lo que hace que cada show sea una experiencia diferente.
A pesar de que las bebidas son un poco caras, realmente valen la pena, especialmente si se está alojado en el Gaylord Hotel y se evita el recargo por entrada y asiento. Nosotros fuimos por primera vez y realmente fue una experiencia inolvidable, nos reímos y cantamos por tres horas, y sentimos que el tiempo se nos pasó volando.
