Sin embargo, es fácil encontrar locales que ofrecen comidas típicas del estado de Sarawak. En general, recomendamos visitar Coco Cabana, especialmente si buscas un lugar tranquilo para relajarte solo o en compañía de amistades mientras disfrutas del hermoso mar.
4. Tusan Beach
Tusan Beach is a breathtaking tourist spot that offers a unique and unforgettable experience. The crystal blue water is mesmerizing, and it transforms into a spectacular Blue Tear phenomenon during certain seasons. We were lucky that we got to witness this natural wonder and were left in awe. The surrounding cliffs and panoramic view make it an excellent place to capture wonderful photos. However, the climb up towards the beach can be a steep one, and it would be best to wear comfortable shoes.
Even though the facilities are minimal currently, the locals sell some delectable foods that are worth trying. We had the pleasure of trying the local delicacy, roasted coconut and coconut ice cream, and it was refreshing and tasty. The beach itself is kept clean and tidy, essential for an enjoyable day out. Nevertheless, one must keep in mind that the beach has high tides, and it is best to check the tide timings before planning a visit.
In conclusion, Tusan Beach is a must-visit attraction when in Miri. We enjoyed the tranquility and beauty of the place, and we can completely understand why people like to come here during the sunset and night time. We would recommend visiting Tusan Beach during the Blue Tear season, which happens occasionally, and one can watch the crystal blue water come to life with glowing blue light. It is a natural wonder that can never be replaced, and it left us in awe.
5. Canada Hill
Canada Hill, also known as Bukit Telaga Minyak, is an attraction in Miri that offers a magnificent view of the city and the sea. It is a great place to visit whether you just have an hour to spare or want to spend a longer time enjoying the scenery. At the top of the hill is the Petroleum Museum, which is worth checking out to learn about the history of the oil and gas industry in the region. However, some visitors found the museum to be outdated and in need of renovations.

All in all, Canada Hill is a must-visit attraction in Miri, but keep in mind that the museum may be outdated and in need of renovations. However, the magnificent view from the hill and the hiking trail make up for it.
6. Niah National Park
Located about 84km away from Miri, Niah National Park is a historic site that provides an opportunity for visitors to experience the fresh nature and environment of the region. The oldest cave in Asia, Niah Cave is a must-visit spot that offers an immersive experience in the natural surroundings. Visitors can walk through the forest to the many caves within, exploring them with an easy walk through the forest on its boardwalk. While the trail can be slippery after rains, the abundance of trees along the way ensures that it is very shady, making it perfect for a light hike or trek.
For nature enthusiasts, Niah National Park presents the opportunity to see animals, including apes, 1000-legged creatures, and butterflies, making for a picturesque view. Although the hike was beautiful, the trail’s poor maintenance could be slightly disappointing for some visitors. Despite that, nothing beats the enchanting experience of being in the midst of beautiful nature, sweating it out on a light trek or just exploring the environment around you.
The cave system has been occupied by humans for over 40,000 years, a fact that provides a glimpse into the life of prehistoric people. The painted cave is another beautiful spot that offers great pictographs and cave drawings. While visiting, visitors can engage a guide to learn more about the history of the cave and its botany, as well as where to spot macaques. Although the trail to the cave wasn’t tough, the wooden planks could be slippery, so it’s essential to be careful when navigating them. Overall, Niah National Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Miri and is a spot that should not be missed when in the region.
